For this assignment, three different tutorials were created. Each one showcases a different tool in Blackboard. Plus, each tutorial was created with a different application. All of these tutorials are geared towards the online instructor.
IMA4a - Getting Started with Interactive Tools
This presentation explains the different types of interactive tools available in Blackboard Learn 9.1. It is designed to assist online instructors in deciding which interactive tool to include in an online course. The viewer can directly choose which of the four tools to learn about (Blogs, Discussions, Journals, or Wikis) or click "Next" to view the first tool presented, Blogs.
IMA4b - Using Blackboard's Date Management Tool
This presentation will walk the viewer through the process of using the Date Mangement tool in Blackboard. This tool is available to assist instructors with the process of updating items with dates in an online course. Previously, instructors had to adjust due dates and availability dates by editing each item. With the introduction of the Date Management tool, dates are able to be automatically adjusted based on course/term information, plus displayed in one area for the instructor to review and adjust.
IMA4c - How to Add a Test Availability Exception
This presentation focuses on the Test Availability Exceptions feature of Blackboard. This relatively new feature gives online instructors the ability to adjust test settings for just one student or a group of students. Instructors can adjust the number of attempts, the timer, and/or the availability dates for a test. This feature is especially useful for when a student has registered with Disability Support Services and requires extended time on a test. It may also be of use to reopen a test for one student who has extenuating circumstances and keep the test closed for the rest of the class. The tutorial first demonstrates the feature and then offers a hands-on opportunity for the viewer to go through the process step by step.
