This job aid was created to instruct professors on
"How to Review Student Videos (for Tests that Utilize Respondus Monitor)."

In January 2014, at my current occupation, we have implemented new technology called "Respondus Monitor." Monitor (for short) accompanies the Respondus LockDown Browser. This program takes a student through a series of steps before they are able to take a test.

The student must:
  • take a picture of himself/herself,
  • present a Photo ID, and
  • scan the surrounding environment with the webcam.

This allows institutions to verify that the student taking the test is in fact the enrolled student in the course. Once the student has completed the steps, he/she is ready to begin the test. The webcam will continue to record during the test and will stop once the student submits the test.

I believe instructing faculty on how to use this new feature is best served in a job aid. Faculty already have the knowledge on how to create and deploy tests; therefore, they do not need to have an extensive training workshop to implement this additional feature. This job aid will guide the instructors on where to locate and review the webcam videos created by the students during their exams.
